Advice without a next step is just opinion. A career guide can tell you a trade pays well and a support role has a ladder, but if it does not tell you where to sign up on Tuesday, the reader closes it and goes back to scrolling.
This is the last page of the Kelowna career pathways guide, and it is the one that makes the rest of it actionable.

The situation
The coach's clients would get excited about a direction, then spend a week trying to figure out which local institution actually offered the program, whether it was full-time, and whether the website they found was even current. Momentum died in the search bar.
What I built
A sources page organized by pathway, not by institution, because readers think in terms of "I want to do X," not "what does this college offer." For each pathway:
- Where the training happens locally, with the specific program name so it is findable
- Format and typical length, so someone with a job knows whether it fits
- The regional labour market sources used in the guide, so a skeptical reader can check the numbers
- A "last verified" date, because stale resources are worse than none
Every entry was checked against the source directly, not copied from another guide. The design is a tidy reference table, made to be scanned with a finger down the left column. It is the least glamorous page in the document and the most used.
Why it works
Clients stopped losing the week between decision and action. The coach could say "go to page sixteen" and end the session with a concrete task. And because the sources are dated and verifiable, the whole guide reads as trustworthy rather than aspirational.
The takeaway for your business
Whatever you publish, end it with the how. Where to go, who to call, what to click. The last page is where interest either becomes action or evaporates. Spend real effort there.
