If Your Business Was a Person, Would We Want to Hang Out With It? by BoostBC

Let's talk about business personalities. Imagine walking into a party. There's the person who instantly makes everyone feel welcome, remembers your name, tells great stories, and somehow makes the entire room feel more fun. Then there's the person who stands awkwardly in the corner, gives one-word answers, and disappears before anyone really gets to know them. Now ask yourself... which one is your business?

Let's talk about  business personalities.

Imagine walking into a party. There's the life of the party who somehow knows everyone, keeps the conversation flowing, and makes every guest feel welcome.

There's the Type A planner who organized the whole event, created the playlist, and somehow remembered to bring extra ice.

Then there's the person documenting every moment for Snapchat or Instagram, making sure everyone knows exactly where they are and what they're doing.

And, of course, there's the mysterious guest standing quietly in the corner. Nice enough, probably, but no one really knows what they do or how to start a conversation with them.

Now ask yourself... which one is your business?

Whether you realize it or not, every  brand has a personality. It's reflected in the words you use, the photos you share, the way you respond to comments, and even how your website feels when someone lands on it. Some businesses come across as warm, funny, knowledgeable, and approachable. Others unintentionally feel distant, inconsistent, or a little robotic.

Brand Management

The truth is, people don't just buy products or services anymore. They connect with businesses they enjoy interacting with. A memorable brand personality helps people remember you, trust you, and ultimately choose you over someone else offering something similar.

The challenge? Your personality has to show up everywhere. If your Instagram sounds like the fun friend at the party but your website reads like an instruction manual, people notice. Consistency builds confidence, and confidence builds customers.

Think about some of your favourite brands. Chances are you could describe them almost like a real person. Maybe they're adventurous, witty, dependable, or just effortlessly cool. That's no accident. Great branding goes far beyond logos and colours it's about creating a personality people actually want to spend time with.

We've got plenty more to say about this (including what kind of "party guest" your business might be), but we'll save that for our latest Walk & Talk Reel.

Until then, ask yourself one simple question:

If your business walked into a room, would people want to hang out with it?
